State-licensed casino push pauses 2026 petition after signature shortfall
Lake of the Ozarks Community Gaming — the private investor group formerly known as Osage River Gaming — paused its 2026 initiative petition campaign in May after falling short of the signatures needed to reach the statewide ballot. The group had budgeted a reported $20 million for the effort after Missouri voters rejected its Amendment 5 in November 2024, 52.5% to 47.5%.
That leaves the Osage Nation’s federal-track project as the only active casino effort at the Lake. Details on both projects are on the Casino Tracker.
