What’s Being Built at the Lake of the Ozarks

The casino gets the headlines, but it’s one of several large projects reshaping the Lake. Here’s what’s actually under construction, what’s approved, and what’s still waiting — ordered by what opens first.

Oasis at Lakeport — opening in phases from 2026

The biggest sure thing at the Lake right now is Oasis at Lakeport in Osage Beach — a year-round resort originally announced at $350 million, with reported costs since growing toward $450 million. The plan: roughly 25 acres of amusement rides (including a 200-foot climate-controlled Ferris wheel), an indoor waterpark, a 402-room Marriott resort with a 30,000-square-foot conference center, restaurants, about 200 public boat slips, and a 1,000-space garage.

It opens in phases: the amusement park and garage are slated for summer–fall 2026, with the hotel and indoor waterpark following in early 2027 after delays tied to acquiring an adjacent timeshare property. Unlike the casino, this project is financed, under construction, and not waiting on any government decision.

Osage Visitors Center — late summer 2026

The Osage Nation’s cultural center, retail space, and coffee shop near Bagnell Dam is expected to open late summer 2026. Details on the Visitors Center page.

Osage casino and hotel — pending federal decision

The $60 million Class II casino and hotel at Bagnell Dam Blvd & Osage Beach Pkwy is not approved and has no construction date. It waits on a U.S. Department of the Interior land-into-trust decision; local officials estimate 3–6 years to a full casino once approved, possibly with a temporary facility sooner. Full status on the Casino Tracker.

Smaller projects around the Lake

Beyond the big three, the Bagnell Dam Strip area continues to fill in — a five-level entertainment complex near the dam has been announced for 2026, and new restaurants and short-term-rental construction follow the visitor growth. We cover these in news as they firm up; anything with a confirmed date lands on the events calendar.
